Kellie Bright is “a bit apprehensive” about returning to EastEnders – when Linda Carter returns to the screen later this month.

Linda will be returning to Albert Square later this month, just in time to see things heat up between estranged husbands Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) – and things are even getting worse. should be worse for Linda.

She’s back in the Square ahead of Tina Carter’s funeral, and previously released photos from filming show her smashing a bottle as she grapples with her alcoholism with everything going.

Now, actress Kellie admits she’s nervous about returning to the show after her maternity leave.

“Coming back after a breakup is always a little scary. At first I was certainly a little nervous but quickly felt comfortable being with the people I love, who are like my family.” , she said.

“The slight apprehension about going back disappeared quickly and I can really say I’d love to be back at work.”

While Kellie is happy again, Linda is still struggling and battling her addiction.

When asked what advice she would give her character, she explained: “What I want to say to her is look, the first thing you need to do is stop drinking because you can’t fix it. cure anything else while you are still drinking.

“Everything that happens will bubble up and turn into all sorts of dramas while you’re drinking because you’re going to make it that way. So her drinking really and really needs to be addressed. before anything else.”

Her on-screen husband Danny Dyer – who plays Mick Carter – is leaving the series this year, and while his exit plot is being kept very secret, Kellie admits Linda is really struggling. and seeing Mick and Janine so close.

Explaining how her character is feeling, she said: “It’s a very difficult situation, they are in the process of divorce and the feelings between the two of them have been frozen until now. at that moment.
