Steve McFadden is said to be in court after he was allegedly made to ride his scooter at almost twice the speed limit.

The 62-year-old EastEnders star, who has played Phil Mitchell in the BBC for more than three decades, is said to have been pulled over by a police officer after he was speeded by a mobile camera to nearly double the speed limit. 20mph degrees.

The Sun reported that scooter-loving Steve was caught riding a Piaggio near his home in London, where he is believed to be running 35mph, on October 10 last year.

The actor is expected to appear at Bromley magistrates on Wednesday, where he could face a fine and possibly a point penalty on his license.

Steve is often seen riding a scooter to work, at Elstree Studio in Hertfordshire, where EastEnders was filmed.

He has had a number of previous meddling with the law for breaking the rules of the road.

In 1996, Steve was banned from driving after he was stopped while driving his Rolls-Royce after drinking 9 double vodkas.

At the time, his punishment was criticized by the Campaign Against Drinking Driving after a judge banned him for 18 months and fined him £1,000 for the offence.

Steve was initially going to defend the positive test result by suggesting that his drink had been spiked in a club but ultimately decided against it after deeming it too difficult to prove.

The actor admitted that he drank three pints of beer and prosecutors told the court that breath tests showed Steve had 80mcg of alcohol in 100ml of his breath.

This suggests that he was significantly more drunk than he was supposed to be, especially given the 35mcg cut-off.

The Mirror has contacted representatives for the BBC and EastEnders for comment.
