He’s one of EastEnders’ worst bad boys – and two decades after leaving Walford behind, he still has that tough man stare that draws criticism from viewers.
But Craig Fairbrass sees the world differently than the fresh-faced criminal who looks like he’s been carved out of solid oak.
Heartbreaker Walford was 34 years old this year when he first appeared on EastEnders in June 1999.
Playing “Dirty” Dan Sullivan, the love rat that cheats on Carol Jackson with her daughter Bianca, he’s never far from trouble.
He may have only lasted for two years but he left a mess after clashes with Phil Mitchell and Steve Owen.

He has also appeared on the US television shows The Unit, Soldier Of Fortune and The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

“This is the fastest business out there, you have to keep moving forward,” he said.
“You get knocked down and you get up again. It’s about taking chances and having faith in yourself.
“It’s not easy, a lot of good actors are no longer acting. I’ve had a career in movies and I’m grateful, but there have been dark times.
“After EastEnders, I didn’t work for eight months and then I thought ‘I have to do what I did before, get on a plane and fly to LA’.”
