With a bank holiday weekend heatwave many of us will be making trips to hardware stores to get our homes and gardens ready for the summer, but don’t be caught out by differing opening hours
Easter Bank Holiday is just around the corner and with the weather looking good many Brits will be turning their attention to home improvement and getting their gardens in order ahead of summer.
But if you’re planning on visiting hardware stores like B&Q, Wickes and Homebase, be sure to check opening times so you don’t get caught.
All major hardware stores are closed on Easter Sunday but here’s the full breakdown of opening times for B&Q, Wickes, Screwfix and Homebase for the remainder of the bank holiday weekend.
The B&Q is closed on Easter Sunday but normal opening hours apply for the rest of the weekend.
- Good Friday, April 15: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m
- Saturday 16 April: 7am – 8pm
- Easter Sunday April 17: CLOSED
- Easter Monday April 18th: 7am – 8pm
Wickes opening times remain the same over the Easter holiday except they are closed on Easter Sunday. Normal opening hours apply on the rest of the holidays.
On Good Friday and Easter Monday the shops are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. As usual, the store opens at 7am on Saturday and closes at 7pm.
The opening hours of the Homebase shops at Easter differ from shop to shop.
However, most are open on Good Friday and Saturday from 8am to 8pm. All shops are closed on Easter Sunday.
Screwfix’s opening times are the same everywhere, with the exception of six branches.

- Easter Sunday, April 17th : CLOSED
- Easter Monday, April 18: 7am – 8pm
The shops with different opening hours are in Ilford, Nottingham Bullwell, Brentford, Clitheroe Barrow, North Walsham and Ringwood.
