The recipe requires only a few basic ingredients and can be made in the oven or microwave for quicker results, taking just 90 seconds.

This delicious treat can be made in a cup and carries a cake quality that is sure to please even the most nagging morning eaters.

It can even be made vegan or gluten-free, with a few slight variations.

Cinnamon and raisin toasted oats recipe (serving 1)

Ingredient

  • 40g oat porridge
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt + 1 extra tablespoon for serving
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon sweetener
  • 1/3 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sultanas or raisins

Method

  1. Put everything in a cup and mix.
  2. Microwave on high setting for 90 seconds (or 20 minutes in oven at 180C / 350F / gas mark 4).
  3. Scoop the cake onto a plate, sprinkle more yogurt on top and enjoy immediately.

  • Squeeze lemon juice

Method

  1. Put it all in a cup and mix..
  2. Microwave on high for 90 seconds (or 25 minutes in an oven at 180C / 350F / gas mark 4).
  3. Scoop the cake onto a plate, sprinkle more yogurt on top and enjoy immediately.
