Ed Sheeran covers the Backstreet Boys as revelers surprised by an impromptu Ibiza set

Ed Sheeran surprised Ibiza partygoers with an impromptu set covering the Backstreet Boys.

The global megastar also led sing-alongs to his own hit “Shape Of You,” as well as tunes by Britney Spears and Neil Diamond.

Sheeran arrived unannounced at the House in Paradise at O Beach Ibiza on Monday and jumped on stage for the set alongside the in-house DJs in front of a large crowd.

The footage showed the pop star starting in Shape Of You before he performed the Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way, during which he leaped into the crowd to sing with fans.

He returned to the stage to finish with Spears’ Sweet Caroline and Hit Me Baby One More Time.

Joshua Makinson, House In Paradise promoter said: “I was absolutely blown away Ed coming to House in Paradise on O Beach.

“We’ve had artists show up and perform in the past, but to have one of the biggest pop stars on the planet perform is magic.”

It comes shortly after Sheeran announced a surprise collaboration with the popular video game series Pokemon.

The title, called Celestial, will be released on Thursday and will come with an animated music video created by the studio behind the games.
