Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn discuss fighting Tony Bellew

Eddie Hearn had a big grin on his face Jake-Paul was booed by the New York crowd after Katie Taylor’s victory over Amanda Serrano.

Taylor maintained her undefeated status and undisputed lightweight title by winning a split decision over featherweight champion Serrano in a thrilling match at Madison Square Garden. They were the first two women in history to officiate a boxing event initially in “the most famous arena in the world”.

The outcome of the fight was debated by fans as Paul was adamant that Serrano – who is managed by his company Most Valuable Promotions – had done enough to claim victory. Speaking after the fight, Paul was drowned out by boos that put a smile on promoter Hearn’s face.

“It was a draw at best; we thought we won, we thought Amanda won. Amanda put on an amazing performance and fought a fight of her life,” Paul said.

“It was Arturo Gatti against Mickey Ward, it was incredible; both women fought their hearts out and it was a historic moment. The crowd is booing but everyone is a winner here tonight and I would be pissed if I were them too.

“Kudos to Katie Taylor for what she has done for women’s boxing and kudos to Amanda Serrano. You must give credit where credit is due. Let’s rewind, like Eddie said, September or October, that second fight just got a whole lot bigger.”

“The fourth was tricky, the fifth was tough, but she came back and how she managed to win the sixth, the seventh, the eighth… the tenth was very close. It was an amazing fight, just an exciting fight.
