Interview with Jake Paul before Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor

Eddie Hearn has told Jake Paul he would accept an offer of $10 million to fight him in the boxing ring.

Hearn and Paul are Co-promoting the historic undisputed title fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden in New York. The pair were placed head-to-head during a duel with both men in opposite corners for the main event.

The Matchroom Boxing promoter has claimed any boxing event between the pair would yield “big numbers” but has admitted he can’t fight. “It would be awesome!” Hearn said during the duel with Paul. “There are so many people in the UK who want to see me knocked out. It would turn out like two million pay-per-view buys in the UK. And if I lose the bet, I’ll take $10 million for the fight Jake-Paul, and I’ll only take UK pay-per-view. He can have all the other earnings around the world.”

Paul then interjected, “You know, if we had fought it would be 30 seconds.” Hearn then responded, “I disagree. It would be a huge favor. I’m terrible. But like I said, for $10 million I would do it.” Paul plans to return to the ring in August for his sixth professional ring appearance.

The YouTube star has earned a growing reputation in esports after scoring KO of the year for his highlight reel stop from Tyron Woodley last December. Hearn promoted Paul’s boxing debut against AnEson Gib and is now promoting a fight with the YouTuber representing Serrano.

Hearn and Paul have already done so went face-to-face in a mock face-off and have settled a $1 million bet on the winner of the Shock Absorber Title Showdown. The pair were embroiled in a heated discussion about Paul’s budding fighting career, in which the boxing promoter described his performances as “average.”

Hearn began, “I would have said he wouldn’t stand a chance in his boxing career where he is. I didn’t know if he had any skills, he fought AnEson Gib who was awful on the night and Jake looked pretty average too as if they were two YouTubers.”

Paul quickly fired back, “Don’t start like that. I beat him in a minute. How do you judge how good I am? You called me average after a minute of my fight? Hearn explained, “You’re average, no, but you’re still average. You’re beating a UFC champion, that’s true, I don’t know where you might go yet, but I’m entitled to my opinion on where I think you’ll go. Paul quickly intervened, “You don’t know my skills?”

Hearn continued, “Average is very flattering on you as a boxer. what is average Someone who can win an intercontinental title, that’s a good achievement for someone who doesn’t have a lot of boxing experience, I actually give that credit.”
