Egypt asks Afcon captains to DELAY the final against Senegal by 24 hours after winning a tough penalty shootout against Cameroon

Egypt has called on the organizers of the Cup of African Nations to postpone the final by 24 hours.
The final between Egypt and Senegal is scheduled for Sunday at 7pm GMT.
But after 120 minutes against Ivory Coast, Morocco and Cameroon in the knockout stages, Egypt wants to play on Monday.
Assistant coach Diaa El-Sayed said: “I hope the CAF will move the final from Sunday to Monday for the sake of fairness, they did it with the third place.
“We are the only team to have played 120 minutes in three consecutive games.
“The players are completely focused, they have a good base to build on and we thank their clubs for that.”
The Afcon heads have decided to push back the third place match between Cameroon and Burkina Faso, so El-Sayed’s wishes can be fulfilled.
The boss assistant will take on a lot of responsibility for the final with coach Carlos Queiroz serving a touchdown ban after kicked out of semi-final against Cameroon.

But he is confident the team will cope without the Portuguese, pointing to locker room leaders like Mohamed Salah.
El-Sayed added: “[Mo] Salah being the leader of the group also gives the players a lot of positive energy. We also have a great head coach who has a lot of experience dealing with players.
“I believe that Queiroz’s departure is not deserved, I want to win both him and his assistant, Roger de Sa.
“I don’t want to discuss the referee’s mistakes or what we suffered during the tournament, the determination of the players to change everything on the pitch.
“We appreciate the support of our fans and we want to thank them for being by our side. We’re going to celebrate tonight, but after all, we haven’t won anything yet.”
