Eight famous faces will compete in two special programs of Celebr MasterChef

Eight famous faces will compete in two special shows for the all-star festival of Celebrity Chef King.

He’s Special, hosted by MasterChef judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode, will feature some of the most memorable celebrities from the previous series.

In the first season, Happy Mondays dancer and percussionist Bez, track and field champion Iwan Thomas, pop star Josh Cuthbert and opera singer Lesley Garrett will compete for the Christmas title and trophy. Golden Whisk by Famous Chef King.

The quartet will face two holiday-themed tests; cocktails and canapes, and the ultimate Christmas dinner.

In the first challenge, celebrities were tasked with recreating and embellishing Christmas canapes using ingredients from Santa’s Secret gift boxes – pairing it with cocktails their favorite.

Like Wallace and Torode, they will showcase their creations in front of a special guest judge – comedian and host Judi Love, who was also crowned Celebrity Chef Christmas Champion of the year. 2021.

The second episode will welcome the return of professional dancer AJ Pritchard, actor Chizzy Akudolu, British drag artist Kitty Scott-Claus and reality star and X-Factor winner Megan McKenna.

In the first challenge, they’ll be tasked with creating a dish from seasonal leftovers, with Wallace and Torode this time starring actress Lisa Faulkner, who won the crown of Floating Chef King language 2010.

They will then cook a dinner that they will serve during the New Year celebration.

Strictly Come Dancing star Pritchard admits it is “certainly nervous” to return to MasterChef’s kitchen, but he will “go with the flow”.

“It’s great to be back in MasterChef’s kitchen, especially at Christmas time in a festive atmosphere. There’s definitely a lot of stress coming back,” he said.

“There’s always a little more anticipation, especially with the invention test because you can’t really prepare, you just have to think on your feet and go with the flow.”

McKenna added: “My whole family is huge around Christmas so I’m buzzing that I’m here.

“I was actually pretty cold when I got here, but I know once I get in there my mind gets confused and I make silly mistakes, so let’s see what happens.”

Cuthbert said he feels “a lot less pressure” on returning to the show after “having a bit of a mess” a while ago.

“It’s great to be back in the MasterChef kitchen for Christmas. This time the pressure is a lot less so I will really try to enjoy every moment of it and immerse in it,” he said.

“Last time it was just a whirlwind, very violent, and I was a little wobbly – a mess in the kitchen, some would say, so I’m looking forward to this. It’ll be fun.”

Celebrity MasterChef Christmas Cook-Off will air for the first time on Friday 23 December on BBC One at 8pm.

The second special, Celebrity MasterChef Festive Extravaganza, will air next week on Friday 30 December on BBC One at 9pm.
