Eight must-see photos from this year’s UK Dog Surfing Championships

Puppies and their owners have taken to the sea at the UK’s annual Dog Surfing Championships.

Some attendees dressed up as familiar faces like the Queen and Scooby Doo for the occasion and made a splash alongside their dogs at the Dog Masters 2022 event.

Dogs were pictured helping their owners on the paddleboards as they battled for a winning spot in the competition at Branksome Dene Chine beach in Poole, Dorset on Saturday.

A competitor, Elizabeth Wilkinson, dressed like her namesake, walking the waves as the queen in a white gown, gray wig and crown.

Ms Wilkinson was joined by her dog Diogie as the couple raced across the beach to the finish line.

Another person was seen paddling in a Scooby-Doo onesie.

And one dog wore a shark fin attached to his life jacket.

Spectators took photos as the race took place.

Now in its fourth year, the competition is an all-day event featuring live music and food.
