Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has revealed that she was offered the role of host of Love Island when Laura Whitmore left, but turned it down.
The reality show winner told Pop Sugar she’s not ready to re-enter the mansion so soon.
“I would love to do it,” she said, “but I can’t do it at the moment because I’m so busy. And I said I’m not ready for that.”
Ekin-Su says she’ll want “appropriate training” before trying to put on Laura’s shoes.
“I’ve done it before. But not to Laura’s level.”
Dubliner pulled out of Love Island in August, admitting that “some elements of the show” were too difficult to maintain.
Laura emphasized that she had “flyed back and forth to South Africa with my new conflict project” and could no longer do it.
“I wish it could still happen but know you’ll be in safe hands,” the Irish star said.
Ekin-Su was a fan favorite for taking on the duties of host, with the role ultimately going to radio host Maya Jama.
The Love Island winner, who took first place with Davide Sanclimenti on the recent series, said ITV “made a good choice in casting her”.

“She was funny, smart, smart, beautiful,” Ekin told Popsugar.
The star, who won hearts for her confidence in the mansion, also revealed her secret to overcoming the pressures of reality TV and the outside world.
“I think that comes from my childhood, I had to go through a tough childhood, going to school, being bullied, being isolated from everyone, not being accepted in everything,” she said. “I have no friends, no one to talk to. It’s really sad.”
The star revealed that she’s become her own friend, boosting her confidence with little practices that helped build her into the reality star’s doc: “I started to really talk with myself in the mirror.”
“I’m like, ‘Hey, how are you today? I’m a strong woman. I’m doing great. I’ll be fine today.'”
