Elbow Beach Capital launches venture vehicle with global impact

Elbow Beach Capital, an impact investment firm, announces the launch of a venture vehicle with an initial commitment of £20 million with a focus on decarbonisation, sustainable energy and impact opportunities society.

Elbow Beach Capital invests in early-stage businesses whose technology has the potential to solve the planet’s greatest challenges, while achieving significant commercial growth. The Foundation aims to create lasting value and partner with founders and entrepreneurs to accelerate the development and implementation of positive impact technologies.

Elbow Beach Capital will invest in a wide range of opportunities including: innovative and disruptive technologies that decouple supply chains and create profitable circular economies; sustainable energy infrastructure and technologies that help reduce dependence on fossil fuels; and things that have a social impact, improving quality of life through improved accessibility and reduced costs.

Elbow Beach Capital is co-founded in 2021 by experienced investor and company founder Nick Charman, commercial and market strategist Jonathan Pollock, and conservation, sustainability and environmental technology expert , Thomas Hardy.

Elbow Beach Capital will invest both within the UK where it is headquartered and globally, typically allocating between £0.5 million and £1.5 million in long-term growth capital to support:

  • Early stage enterprise (pre-seed for Series A)
  • An innovative and purposeful entrepreneur with a commitment to improving lives
  • Unique and scalable solutions to important social and environmental problems
  • Commercially viable companies with a clear path to financial growth
