Elden Ring is the biggest UK game launch outside of FIFA and Call of Duty since 2018.
Its first week on the market surpassed the launches of Cyberpunk 2077, Halo Infinite, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Horizon Forbidden West, according to GSD physical and digital sales data, as reported by gamesindustry.biz. In fact, it’s the biggest non-FIFA or Call of Duty launch for the UK since Red Dead Redemption in October 2018.
Horizon fell to second place this week, followed by FIFA 22, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Elden Ring has dominated the gaming discussion since its launch on February 25th, growing in popularity day by day on Steam and becoming one of the top rated games in modern history.
Some crazier stories have also emerged, such as a gamer using the Nintendo Switch’s Ring Fit controller to defeat a boss and a twitch chat of a streamer taking control while sleeping. It even has its own candy.
In our 10/10 review, IGN said, “Elden Ring is a massive iteration of what FromSoftware began with the Souls series, bringing its unrelentingly challenging combat to an incredible open world that gives us the freedom to create our own path.” Select.”
