Elden Ring Player Defeat Boss with Ring Fit Controller… On First Try

FromSoftware fans are on another level, known for beating games like Dark Souls with banana controllers, Donkey Kong bongos, etc. Naturally, players are experimenting with unique gameplay styles for Elden Ring , with a fan taking down a boss using Nintendo’s Ring Fit Adventure controller.

If you’re new, Ring Fit Adventure is an exercise game on the Nintendo Switch that uses a controller called the Ring-Con, which is essentially a Pilates ring with a Joy-Con attached. It also uses a foot strap with another Joy-Con fitted inside. In Ring Fit Adventure, players use Ring-Con and leg straps to perform various forms of exercise.

Now, SuperLouis64 – the same streamer who defeated Dark Souls with bananas – has defeated a boss in Elden Ring using the Ring Fit control mod. As you can see in videotapes below, Super Louis 64 beat Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in good practice. What’s more, the streamer managed to do it on his first try.

In one separate post, Super Louis 64 explained how the control scheme works. When he starts running in place, it unlocks motion with the joystick on the Ring-Con. So his character cannot move unless he is moving in real life. He can attack by squeezing the Ring-Con or swinging it like a sword. And, to heal, he must squat while holding the heal button.

Elden Ring is hard enough, even without using these crazy control schemes. If you’re having trouble making your way through the Middle Lands, check out our Elden Ring wiki guide. Or, if you’re still nervous about learning about FromSoftware’s latest, you can read our Elden Ring review.
