One of the toughest bosses in Elden Ring, Malenia, Blade of Miquella will now automatically heal itself when players call for help.
While healing herself is one of Malenia’s normal abilities, she should only do so when her attacks hit the player. However, a bug in Elden Ring’s latest update apparently means she can heal herself at any point in the fight and for no apparent reason.
Elden Ring’s leading Malenia expert Let Me Solo Her spotted the bug when he was called to fight the boss.
His YouTube video shows it clearly: Even when there are no players around Malenia, let alone taking damage from her, bits of her health bar shoot back up.
Other players have noticed it as well, with Reddit user Demonboy995 saying it happened every time he was called to help fight Malenia.
It’s unclear what triggers the heal, but users have hypothesized that since the delay only occurs in multiplayer, it essentially causes Malenia to register hits that players aren’t registering.
The infamous boss may just be looking for ways of his own to counter Let Me Solo Her, but the now-legendary Elden Ring summon that pops up in other players’ worlds to defeat them with ease.
Patch 1.04 also made it harder to defeat the Malenia in other, more intentional ways, as it weakened the Swarm of Flies summon, which dealt large blood loss damage.
In our 10/10 review, IGN said, “Elden Ring is a massive iteration of what FromSoftware began with the Souls series, bringing its unrelentingly challenging combat to an incredible open world that gives us the freedom to create our own path.” Select.”
