Ellen DeGeneres has said that the best way for people to honor her late co-star Stephen “tWitch” Boss is to “do the things he loves” and “let people know that we are there for them.” .
In a video posted to Instagram on Friday, the talk show host was emotional as he admitted that “it’s been really hard for everyone” since the dancer and DJ died last week at the age of 40.
Boss has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show for many years as her DJ and is also a former So You Think You Can Dance contestant.
Many US outlets reported that Boss died by suicide, citing the LA County Medical Examiner.
In the video, DeGeneres says: “Hey guys. I just want to say that the last 11 days have been really difficult for everyone.
“Everybody is in pain and trying to understand it and we will never understand it. And the holidays are tough anyway, I think.
“But in honor of Twitch, I think the best we can do is laugh and hug, play games, dance and sing. That’s how we honor him, that we do what he loves, that’s dance, he loves music, he loves games, so we do it.”
She continued: “And I know it seems hard, it seems impossible, but it’s our way of honoring him, hugging and telling each other that we love each other and letting people know that we love each other. I am there for them and care about everyone.”
