Ellen DeGeneres has been criticized after pranking Kim Kardashian.

The presenter, 64, knew the reality TV star, 41, was afraid of spiders and tried to joke about helping her overcome her fear while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Revealing a terrarium that appears to contain a large spider, the host frightens her guest, who quickly jumps out of his seat.

Kim tells Ellen that “we’ve been through this before” as she continues to try to bring the “animal” closer to her.

An Afraid Kim said, “I don’t care. I don’t care about overcoming my fear.”

Ellen then asked, “What if I just hold it?” as she continued to open the box.

When Kim was adamant that she didn’t want Ellen to do so, the presenter pretended to throw it at her, horrifying the SKIMS founder as she let out a huge scream.

She shouted: “Stop, stop!” as the audience gasped before Ellen joked that it wasn’t a real spider.

That prompted Kim to wave and say “goodbye everyone” in a jiffy as she returned to the stage.

However, the skit did not receive adequate support, with many fans taking to social media to complain about the stunt.

One user on Twitter wrote: “Wow. So respectful of her boundaries. Respect Kim for stepping out. So despicable.”

Another gasped: “Ellen, you have no idea how scary this is [is] for a person with phobia. “

And a third complained: “It’s not nice to annoy someone when you know they have a true phobia. Ellen again doesn’t respect boundaries. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t. Why make people angry. uncomfortable?”

On the show, Kim also revealed that she’s prepared to wear diapers if that means she looks trendy.

The star admitted: “I don’t care how uncomfortable, I don’t care how long, if I have to wear diapers and not go to the bathroom… I don’t care what I do.

“I would wear literally anything.”

And she confessed to buying some adult diapers to wear on her college exams in California because she thought she’d get a break during the eight-hour test.

Kim often wears clothes that are eye-catching but seem impractical.

At last year’s Met Gala, she wore a head-to-toe black Balenciaga outfit, completely revealing her skin.

She also wore a yellow Balenciaga bandage for this year’s Fashion Week in Paris.
