Ellie Taylor said she was “delighted and surprised” to be traveling to Blackpool for Strict Come Dancing.
The 38-year-old comedian told PA news agency that the entire production and cast of the BBC show are “shutting up” to return to the prestigious Tower Ballroom after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.
She said: “I am delighted and surprised to be so close to Blackpool. I never in a million years thought I would come close to it.
“It’s an important milestone, and… I’m very proud that we’ve come this far. I really, really am.
“(We) can’t wait to get up there.
“It’s the pinnacle of the Strict calendar so yeah, I think it[will]start there.”
It is the first time that her professional partner, Johannes Radebe, will dance competitively with a celebrity at Blackpool, since joining the show Serious in 2018.
“If you’ve been there, you’ve succeeded,” Radebe told PA.
“Blackpool is bigger and better and that is its appeal first and foremost.
“We have more dancers in our shows, which I think really helps you build that week’s choreography and you’re allowed to be more adventurous with it so they can be more spectacular. so many.”

Memorable serious moments from Blackpool over the years include the 2016 entrance of former shadow chancellor Ed Balls, who was lowered from the ceiling to play the piano before taking to the dance floor to frolic with Katya Jones.

Radebe added that he really wants to be dancing “until the show is over”.
Taylor, known for his comedy show Ted Lasso, also told PA: “If I get to the final, (I think) my god, the universe is weird, isn’t it?
“Funny things happen. But you know, I suppose I feel that way already because there’s no way on earth that I imagine I’m still there (all these weeks).
“So in a way, it sounds cheesy… I really feel like I’ve won.
“I won my own little battle over dance, just leaving me at peace with it and at peace with my arms and legs.”
“I think it’s a good example for my daughter that you don’t have to be the best, but you have to give your best and that’s totally what I did.
“You know, there are some amazing, natural-born dancers in this competition and I can’t compete with them in that respect.”
Radebe said: “I have to say thank you for the kindness to the public, especially in our case, for supporting us and pulling us out of the bottom dance team a couple of times during the season. this.
So that’s also very humbling.
Sunday night’s results showed former England footballer Tony Adams, 56, became the seventh celebrity to leave, having been forced to withdraw through injury.
The remaining eight couples will hit the dance floor at Blackpool Tower on Saturday 19 November at 7:45pm, with the results shown on Sunday 20th November at 7:20pm on BBC One.
