Elon Musk’s transgender daughter has filed a petition asking the Los Angeles County Superior Court to change her name to reflect her new gender identity. PlainSite.orgonline documentation of.
The petition – signed April 18 – shows the 18-year-old legally expressing her desire to be Vivan Jenna Wilson – adopting her mother’s last name. The teenager was formerly known as Xavier Alexander Musk.
Born in 2004 to twin Griffin, she stated ‘I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.’
Musk has seven children with his first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson. The couple were married from 2000 to 2008.
Tesla CEO Musk has previously commented on transgender issues.
Speaking on Twitter in 2020, the 50-year-old said: “I’m totally in favor of trans, but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”
However, the tycoon has previously been accused of making homophobic remarks, after voicing support for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis has received much criticism after signing the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill in March that prevents discussion of gender identity and homosexuality in younger classrooms.
And earlier this month, Musk commented on a story regarding the ‘institutionalization of gender stereotypes’, saying: “We’re simultaneously being told that gender differences don’t exist. Present and gender differences are so profound that irreversible surgery is the only option.
“Perhaps someone wiser than me can explain this dichotomy.”
The hearing will take place in Santa Monica, California on Friday (June 24).

Meanwhile, NASA is concerned if Musk’s SpaceX rocket explodes during launch again, it could destroy the only path the agency has into space.
The billionaire businessman’s company is ready to put its Starship rocket into orbit, but it risks cutting America off from the International Space Station.
Kathy Lueders, NASA’s director of space operations, said it could be “quite devastating” for the company to repeat an early failed launch.
The show has faced a lengthy legal review of its main launch location in Texas.
Musk wants to show customers that Starship, which he sees as humanity’s way to Mars, can successfully reach orbit, a long-delayed milestone in rocket development.
