drive embers entered its closed beta earlier this month, and while testing has been conducted every week since then, the first real event has been announced. This Saturday, players can team up with Elloa, the MMO’s community manager, to explore the MMO together.
Since leaving his NDA-laden Alpha, drive embers has ramped up its marketing efforts as it heads towards launch. The closed beta does require a purchase, but with weekly testing with developers, many looking for an old-school style MMO feel it’s worth the cost.
While various tests have taken place each weekend this month, the Stormhaven team is assembling their first Closed Beta Community Event in-game on Saturday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m. Central/4:00 p.m. Eastern/1:00 p.m. Pacific. At the event, players will team up and explore the world the studio is creating, specifically traveling to Dryfoot, alongside Community Manager Elloa.

If you’re not in the beta but want to see drive embers In action, the team will be streaming the event on Elloa’s channel as per the video in the tweet announcement.
drive embers is currently focused on building out the content in the beta, having spent the alpha phase ensuring the core systems and mechanics are in place. The MMO is still aiming for a 2022 release, and we were recently able to catch up with the developers at Stormhaven Studios to chat a bit about the world they’re creating and some of the challenges of building an MMO as an indie -Developer.
