Emmerdale’s Meena Jutla leaves villagers wondering what she’s up to on ITV soap, as a resident is unexpectedly asked to testify in her trial
Emmerdale’s broadcast surprised residents on ITV on Tuesday night, when a character was asked to act as a defense witness for Meena Jutla.
Serial killer Meena faces trial next week for her crimes, including the murders of Nadine, Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker.
Meena has conspired with her lawyer to find a way to defend her case, and she is also desperate to take down her innocent sister Manpreet Sharma with her.
But on Tuesday night, she will cause confusion and anxiety, as Manpreet prepares to testify against her siblings next week.
It was soon revealed that Wendy Posner had been called to testify, as a defense witness.
But how does Wendy feel about the news, and how will the villagers react to Meena’s latest antics?
It comes as Manpreet actress Rebecca Sarker reveals that Meena will drop a “terrifying” final confession during the trial.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Rebecca revealed it could change her personality for the rest of her life.
She also revealed that there is a long way to go for the character in her recovery, suggesting the latest bomb blast could affect this even further.
“Of course, it’s been a long road. It’s going to be a long road to recovery, if any,” Rebecca said.
As for the twist bomb finale, she added: “Meena has a horrible, more horrifying confession to make.
“One of all terrible crimes, this could potentially plague Manpreet for the rest of her life. I would say it’s a crime very, very, very close to home. .”
Rebecca also confirmed her character’s past and that the lies she’s told, which may include the truth about Meena’s demise and messages sent to Ethan’s phone, will return. haunt her.
She said of Manpreet’s expectations: “She knew those weapons were in Meena’s armor and Meena would throw anything at her to benefit her case.
“The sisters know each other inside and out really, she knows and she’s trying to prepare for what’s going to happen. Being out in court like that was a stimulating experience for her.”
