Emmerdale viewers have been predicting that there could be a romance on the horizon with ex-couple Paddy Kirk and Mandy Dingle.
The latest episode of the ITV drama shows Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Mandy (Lisa Riley) sharing a tender moment as they treat newlyweds Liv and Vinny to a meal to celebrate their recent wedding. surname.
Exes can’t resist reminiscing about the good old days, and Mandy definitely has a nostalgic look in her eyes.
“Reminds me of what we used to be like when we were there,” she says of her sons Vinny (Bradley Johnson) and Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele).
“Just so much nonsense,” Paddy replied, as Mandy continued: “I guess we’re just like them.
“Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if you and I were together.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever been enough for you,” Paddy replied, before adding, “That way you won’t need someone else.”
Looking frustrated, Mandy said, “Let’s just hope that Liv and Vinny don’t get into all that trouble, hey?”
“They’ve been through worse, I think they’ll be together forever,” Paddy added, a smile back on Mandy’s face.
Viewers quickly recognized the chemistry between Mandy and Paddy, and took to Twitter to comment.
“Spark between Paddy and Mandy??? #Emmerdale,” one person asked.
Another commented: “God they can’t do a bully and Apparate they can’t think of anything worse than #Emmerdale.”
A third person tweeted: “Paddy and Mandy better not see each other again. #Emmerdale.”
And the fourth viewer added: “Mandy and Paddy will have an affair then #Emmerdale.”
Mandy and Paddy got married in 1999, but their love story didn’t go as planned when he discovered that Mandy was having an affair with his sick father’s nurse and quickly ended their marriage.
This resulted in Mandy having to flee the village, but since returning in 2019, she and Paddy seem to have put their history aside and gotten along.
Paddy is now married to Chas Dingle, while Mandy remains single following the death of her evil husband Paul Ashdale.
Actress Lisa recently hinted at more heartbreak for the Dingle family, saying, “With Mandy and Paddy, you can have two characters who were once married and are now best friends.
“It’s that loyalty and deep trust that Mandy and Paddy have. This will continue into the future and we’ve got some serious pain coming up in Dingles.
“Of course when there’s heartbreak in Dingles, we’ll all stick together like glue,” she added.
