Emmerdale fans have ‘found out’ a turning point with Meena Jutla that she will stay in the soap until October.
The serial killer’s fate was revealed in last night’s episode of ITV soap, with viewers being informed that Meena is still alive despite her horrible fall – but she was arrested by the police for questioning.
Dr Liam Cavanagh pushed her off the very bridge where Meena killed his daughter Leanna Cavanagh two years ago and fans believe it could finally end her murderous streak once and for all.
But some fans of the show believe that Meena will stay on the show until October and her exit storyline will be part of a big 50th anniversary celebration.
One person wrote on Twitter :” Emmerdale Psycho Meena isn’t dead yet. She’ll recover, get caught for her crimes, go to prison and then she’ll be back to more normalcy for revenge on everyone in October in big episodes of the show’s 50th Anniversary Week. ! ”
“Hold Meena for a special 50th anniversary. #Emmerdale,” a second added, while a third was uninterested in the idea, writing: “If they pull this out in October, I’m going to be very upset, you watch #emmerdale.”
The fourth wrote: “Just kill Meena or smack her, this is so ridiculous now!! I just hope this storyline doesn’t last until October!”
It comes after the show bosses featured on its 50th anniversary on ITV soap.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, the show’s producers teased: “We’ve been thinking about the 50th all along.
“I think we might have stifled some of our big ideas while Covid was so prominent in our lives because we didn’t know what we could achieve. But Super Soap Week did. really showed us what we could do.”
As with the big stunts, the bosses wanted to create big stories behind them, as they added: “And as great as the stunts – we had to have stories to support the stunts We can blow up anything but if there’s no story behind it – what’s the point?
“Our focus right now is on really building those stories so that when we get to the Golden Month we have secrets that viewers would love to reveal.”
They said: “There’s probably going to be a birth in there – the babies in the soap are born around show celebrations or Christmas celebrations, so there’s going to be one of those things happening.
“And we’re going to do something epic – there’s going to be an epic stunt because we’re famous for that. But all in all, the most beloved characters on our show really are. will be challenged in some great love story.”
They added: “It’s really been key to us that whatever happens in 50 – the fallout is huge. This will continue and get us to 2023.”
