The film begins when Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) tries to apply for a mortgage to buy Mulberry Cottage without knowing that Jai (Chris Bisson) has taken out a fraudulent loan in the context of his financial difficulties.
He tried to dissuade her from hiding the truth, but the web of lies was unraveled when she applied for a loan and her application was immediately denied.
Jai is then forced to admit the truth about what he did when Laurel almost turned himself in to the police.
ITV Vandals now reveal that their housing situation could now force Laurel to leave Dales.
The series begins next week, as Laurel struggles to shed tears as she realizes she’ll have to look outside the village to find a place in her price range.
The situation worsened when Kim later informed the devastated Laurel that she had found a Mulberry buyer in the following scenes.
The master soap maker tells Laurel emotionally that she has 40 days to leave the property.
But Jai is then put in a position to face a life-changing choice on the soap when Kim approaches him with an offer.
In later scenes, Kim asks Jai to split his stake in the Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits center, saying that in return she will give him enough money to pay off the loan and deposit Mulberry.
What will Jai decide to do? Could this be the last time we see Laurel in the village?
This comes after Charlotte Bellamy, who plays Laurel, admitted that she couldn’t see how the pair would get back together following Jai’s betrayal on the soap, as her character was already taken. “devastated”.
Charlotte told Digital espionage: “Mulberry was a home full of memories for her, and he put it all in jeopardy. He respects not only her but also her memories and past.
“It was Ashley’s house in the beginning and he left it to her, and left her money to the kids. Jai has actually asked her for the money that Ashley left the kids trust, so he’s about to hit a new low. ”
She added about Laurel and Jai’s relationship: “I think when trust is broken, she starts looking back at what she had before. She became very nostalgic. In the scenes we’re doing with Alfie – who plays Arthur – we talk about his dad and things like that and I think it rocked her, really – understandable.
“How far away will the future be, who knows?” Charlotte said. “It’s a soap, people break up and get back together and at any time. You just do what you’re told! ”
Emmerdale airs these scenes the week of Monday, February 28 on ITV.
