Emmerdale: Leyla got a mysterious phone call

Emmerdale will air at a time when Leyla Harding fears her darkest secrets will be exposed on ITV on Thursday night.

The character is clearly hiding something, with her recent behavior having raised concerns with some residents and viewers.

Spoilers confirmed that the character is hiding a secret or two, but they also detailed that Leyla has a mysterious connection to newcomer Suzy.

Scenes on Thursday will show the moment the women bump into each other in the village, leaving Leyla shaken and confused.

When Suzy stated that the pair knew each other through work, it was revealed that viewers would soon learn more about it.

On Thursday, the hour-long episode will see Leyla panicking about her secrets while Suzy is in the village.

Suzy will promise her that she will continue to hide the secrets that have been told to her, but what exactly is she going to do?

Upcoming scenes will reveal what Leyla’s secret is and how exactly Suzy is involved – amid speculations about the new character’s true identity.

It follows Leyla making cryptic phone calls in recent scenes, as well as her going AWOL during Meena Jutla’s trial and verdict.

Leyla appeared innocent when questioned by Wendy Posner and husband Liam Cavanagh about her whereabouts, with her often using her job as an excuse for her unusual behaviour.

It’s been a tough year for Leyla and Liam, after their daughter Leanna was murdered, and Leyla grievingly miscarried shortly after.

Leyla was also shot and nearly killed by the evil Meena earlier this year, and it was hinted that Leyla might not be coping as well as she has claimed.

Earlier this year, Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw hinted that something big was standing in the way of the character.

She told the press: “Leyla has a big storyline coming out in 2022. We’ve seen her be a huge support to Liam having lost his daughter Leanna but it seems like All are the same?”

“Is Leyla really coping as well as she seems or is there a little more going on out there that we’ll explore?”

It comes as soap boss Kate Brooks promises big “branches” ahead for characters in the event that failed Meena’s exit.

One central character is Leyla, with Kate hinting that there’s a “massive” backstory for her and Liam.

She told The Mirror and other press: “This woman is ravaging the village and destroying people’s lives, Liam has lost her daughter, Manpreet… she hasn’t been through what in 12 years. last month?

“So I think we were very conscious of not just tying it in a very neat bow and saying it’s okay, now that Meena is out of the village and out of the village, let’s move on.

“It’s not what was going to happen or how we made it. There’s a big story on the table for Liam and Leyla, it’s a result of what went down with Leanna and everything, there are things. major ramifications for Charles and Manpreet.”
