Charley Webb is aiming to return to the acting world after leaving Emmerdale last year.

Best known for playing the sassy Debbie Dingle in the hit soap, Charley, 34, was a fixture in Dales for nearly two decades before she passed away in shock.

Chatting on Instagram with her followers during a Q&A session, the mother implied: “When the right thing happens to me, I’ll be back.”

One more simple yet promising sentence: “Can’t wait.”

In early 2022, the soap actress confirmed that she had left the popular ITV soap opera, saying, “I left to have Ace two years ago.

“I went back late last year for ten weeks finishing a storyline so I guess it’s officially been a year.

“I never felt the need to announce it so we didn’t.”

It is reported that her decision to leave Emmerdale was made after Matthew and his co-star Isabel Hodgins got into a race.

Talking about Charley’s decision to leave ITV, a source said Sun at the time: “The past few months have given her time to think about the future and that is something that has nothing to do with Emmerdale.

“Matthew getting tangled up in line on set prompted her to decide to leave.

“Charley has been at Emmerdale for 19 years and her character Debbie has been on a roller coaster ride. It’s time for a new adventure.”

Away from Dales, she has three children with her former co-star Matthew Wolfenden, who played David Metcalfe in the film.

Charley recently gave fans a glimpse into their home and family life, when she posted a set of adorable photos to celebrate her 34th birthday in late February.

As the whole family was grinning for the camera, Charley wrote: “This is what it looks like at 34 and I couldn’t be more grateful. Let’s cuddle the reality of birthdays with a 2.5-year-old.”

For an even more genuine moment, two-year-old Ace looked like he wanted to wriggle out of his father’s arms.

Charley and Matthew got engaged on Christmas Day 2009, when he got down on one knee and answered questions. The couple dated for two years before getting engaged.

Their first child, Buster, was born in April 2010; Bowie was later born in December 2015; and Ace were born in July 2019.

They then got married in February 2018 and their co-star, Lucy Pargeter, was the bridesmaid.
