ITV soap star – who left last year and continues to win I’m A Celebrity – admittedly there was a time during his time on the show when he thought it would be “easier” without him by his side, when he struggled with anxiety and his depression.

Danny played Aaron Dingle for years on the show and he admits there were times in his career when he really struggled to deal with the pressure of filming and had panic attacks while doing it. work, forcing bosses to pause filming.

He said: “I’m not going to sit here and lie and say, ‘I want to kill myself,’ but I definitely think it would have been easier if I hadn’t been here.

“I have nothing to lose and I think it would have been easier if I wasn’t here… so if I get out of that situation. It’s the deepest and darkest thing it’s been through. I never thought of that. I can’t.”

Danny recalls experiencing terrifying panic attacks during filming for the show, where he forced the bosses to stop filming so he could recuperate before continuing with the role. mine.

“Suddenly I started sweating, I started to almost pass out,” he recalls, “I had to load a lot in Emmerdale when I had a big shoot and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m about to faint.’ “They go, “Wait,” and my brain is running, “You’ll make this, you’ll make this”. I sweat and I go, “Sorry, you’re going to have to cut there, I sweat.”

He also explained that he never realized he was struggling with anxiety at first and thought something else was making him feel like passing out while filming scenes on the show.

Speaking to the Thomas brothers on the Mancs On The Mic podcast, he added: “I used to think it was an overactive thyroid. That’s what I’ve been tested for. But it’s anxiety. I just don’t know how to deal with it.”

Danny left the show last year before he was on I’m A Celebrity. He explained at the time that he had left the show to join the castle show in an effort to support his family financially.
