Emmerdale’s villain Jamie Tate looks set to return to ITV next week.
In the episodes that begin Monday, May 9, viewers will be faced with a sinister comeback, followed by weeklong episodes and glimpses of the future. future when life is dangling in the balance.
Opening up about the special week, executive producer Laura Shaw told the Mirror and other news outlets: “As we head into the big week – Monday, we’ll kick off with a flash show flash where you’ll totally scream into your TV find out what’s happening on earth.
“I think I was literally screaming with excitement when I saw what happened next week. And then we revealed a little more each day – Monday through Thursday with a prologue to everything. will obviously be fully revealed by the end of the week.”
Teasing Gabby’s backstory, she said, “We’ll see Gabby pushed to the limit at Home Farm. We know that Jamie Tate is still alive, so will he come back for Thomas? If so, How long will Gabby go to protect her son and prevent him from being taken from her?”
Jamie was last seen in Dales in November 2021 when he is believed to have drowned following a car crash.
However, it was later revealed that he faked his own death to be with his daughter, whom Kim’s mother had entrusted to Andrea’s mother, who had a secret relationship with Jamie.
How will Kim react to seeing Jamie return from the dead?
Laura also reveals that Noah’s obsession with Chloe will culminate during the dark week.
“There are actually some lovely scenes that explore motherhood in these episodes – not just with Gabby but with Faith as well with her big, huge, and shocking secret,” she added. “It was revealed to Moira – she’s the one she shares it with. There were some really moving scenes this week with Moira and Faith.
“Cain and Al – we know these two have a smoldering rivalry that’s been building for months now, so we think it’s going to explode when these two go head-to-head again. will be gone for the week unscathed or something big will happen. will change the dynamics between these two forever?”
To make the week even more thrilling, stunts will also be present – something never seen before on the ITV channel.
She said: “As with all the exciting dramas of the week there will also be action and stunts. We shot a pretty big stunt, which was a lot of fun to plan and build. . achieve that.
“I remember we came up with the story idea and we were all sitting in a big conference room and I presented this idea and said, ‘This is what I want us to do.’ And I think everyone who sat looking at me in shock silence for about two minutes before all the brilliant people just jumped in with a million great ideas on how we could do it.
“In the end, we had to build a very special prop, which we’ll see in the episodes, to do the stunt work and of course we needed it to do it safely.
“We also used some new cinematography for one of the stunts, which makes you feel like you’re right in the middle of the action and I can tell you it’s absolutely terrifying!
“Again, I don’t think we’ve ever done that on Emmerdale before so it’s really amazing to watch an incredibly talented team do new and exciting things and make the show look completely different. so amazing.”
