Emmerdale’s Mark Charnock expressed his deep gratitude to Elizabeth Boag after she left the soap.
Actor Marlon Dingle, 53, took to Twitter Monday to say goodbye to Elizabeth’s character Gail Hancock as audiences watched her final scenes.
Fans are now asking bosses to bring Gail back after they witnessed the nurse tending to Marlon in the hospital ward after he was bedridden from a stroke. .
Taking to Twitter, Elizabeth posted: “Bye Gail! Thank you @markcharnock, @ZoeHenry03, all the cast, crew and cast team @emmerdale. Love every minute!”
Mark replied, “You were great on this part, Liz! Just awesome xx.”
Fans are desperate to see Elizabeth reprise her role, with one piece writing: “Let Liz be the regular Gail. Great acting. Character continuity and attention to detail. surpasses most dramas and movies.”
Another typed: “Don’t local doctors need nurses after they go to jail? Leave Gail as usual!”
Another added: “You need a job in surgery, a nurse comes through like real and normal!”
“You’re like a breath of fresh air, I’m gutted you’re gone… We need you back ASAP,” the fourth spat out.
As well as her role on Emmerdale, Elizabeth has appeared in Casualty and Silent Witness.
She also appeared in Doctors and Bruised Sky.
It comes as fans point out an obvious mistake in the latest season of the ITV soap, when Marlon returns home after he suffered a debilitating stroke.
The character overheard a heartbreaking discussion on Monday after he returned home from the hospital.
Fiancé Rhona Goskirk is delighted when Marlon is finally home, as Mary tries to assure her that she will be there to support them in their transition.
When April handed him a glass of water, one Emmerdale fan said she “twisted” his head back – and that paramedics should have shown her dad how to drink.
Taking to Twitter to comment on the moment, one wrote savagely: “April pokes water at Marlon’s demon like she’s trying to put out a fire.”
Another said: “Maybe they showed April how to help Marlon and what to do if he chokes.”
“You won’t give Marlon water quickly and people will definitely be shown how to give fluids,” another posted.
