It was reported that former soldier Duane Gardner, 49, shouted about the Quran and insulted a group of Chinese tourists.

According to Sun.

After two colleagues filed complaints against their former mentor, Duane was fired following a disciplinary panel hearing by the company Minimal Risk Consulting.

ITV soap Emmerdale achieved second place in the race in less than a year

When he was brought before a panel by the security firm Minimal Risk Consultancy, who contracted him to the soap, Duane referenced an earlier alleged race involving the actors of Emmerdale.

Last year, a race poll was conducted by soap moguls, after stars Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins were reportedly absent from filming following a heated argument.

Later, ITV bosses accepted an explanation from the two actors, who play David Metcalfe and Victoria Sugden respectively, and the pair have since gotten back together.

The couple has denied all allegations and any wrongdoing, suggesting that there had been a misunderstanding instead, according to sources.

According to The Sun, Duane addressed the alleged incident after being fired from the soap.

He said: “I found it surprising that I was fired when that story with the actors was swept under the carpet.

The two characters have spent a few weeks absent from Emmerdale

“I did absolutely nothing wrong.”

Mirror has approached ITV for comment, who said it is a personal matter between Duane and his firm Minimal Risk Consulting.

Earlier this year, Matthew and Isabel were back filming on the Yorkshire soap – after being away from the set since last September.

In January 2022, the pair reprized their on-screen roles, after the show showed their characters leaving a few weeks after Meena attempted to murder Victoria.

“ITV conducted a rigorous investigation into the allegations made, with eyewitness testimony. The bosses accepted Matthew and Isabel’s explanation and agreed they could return to work.” , a source said Sun on Sunday at that time.

An Emmerdale spokesperson added at the time: “While we will never comment on individual cases, Emmerdale has strong policies in place to deal with any allegations made by them. I pay attention and take the appropriate steps.”
