Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw has revealed that there will be more than one stunt going on during ITV’s big week, with action episodes coming up.
Emmerdale will air the death and dramatic scenes in the coming weeks on ITV, with a special episode.
Dubbed the ‘blink of a week’, viewers will get to see the vast landscape ahead, before all is revealed at the end of the week.
Lives will be in grave danger with several characters taking center stage, with a “scary” stunt set to wreak havoc.
But producer Laura Shaw has confirmed that there will be more than one stuntman appearing during the special week, as she detailed several storylines that will be central.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she said: “As with all the exciting drama of the week there will be action and stunts.
“We shot a sizable stunt that was fun to plan and build. I don’t think we’ve done anything like it before – not in the 20 years I’ve been in, anyway – anyway. Emmerdale – and we’ve had a lot of conversations and been wondering how we can get there.
“I remember we came up with the story idea and we were all sitting in a big conference room and I presented the idea and said, ‘This is what I want us to do’.
“And I think everyone sat and watched me in stunned silence for about two minutes before everyone brilliantly jumped in with a million great ideas about how we could do it.
“In the end, we had to build a very special prop, which we’ll see in the episodes, to do the stunt work and of course we needed it to do it safely. “
Laura continued: “We also used some new cinematography for one of the stunts, which makes you feel like you’re right in the middle of the action and I can tell you it’s absolutely terrifying. !
“Again, I don’t think we’ve ever done that on Emmerdale before so it’s really amazing to watch an incredibly talented team do new and exciting things and make the show look completely different. so amazing.”
Teasing that there could be a death in the dramatic scenes, she told us: “So Noah and his obsession with Chloe, Gabby and the fear of Jamie coming back to catch Thomas , we’ll see something happen to Faith that she’s keeping a secret, but why?
“We’ll also see Cain and Al’s rivalry return and I can promise you that will take a big turn in the special week and lives will certainly be in jeopardy.”
Laura also revealed all about what will lead up to the big week, teasing: “We’ve been planning this for a long time and we know that audiences love it when we step out of style Tell your usual story.
“We’ve done things like this before – we did Big Night Out, we did the murder of Graham, and we’ll follow a similar pattern starting with the transitions. Fast-forward gives audiences the chance to play a little bit of Detective Emmerdale and see if they can figure out what happens during the week.
“I think it’s always been interesting when we do these weeks and I think now Emmerdale has become really popular for them and that’s always the question I get asked the most – when are you going to do it again? ?
“Certainly here, it gets the whole building buzzing with excitement, because everyone knows that means that some stories that have boiled over will explode massively, while also kicking off other stories in the process.” kind of big drama that will carry us through the rest of the year and into our 50th birthday celebrations in October.”
