The Zambian midfielder is back in training while the squad works in Portugal.
Mwepu offered hints of what he could do last season but was also hampered by injury.
He wants to play a full part in the Seagulls’ quest to improve on their ninth-place finish from 2021-22.
In an interview published via the club’s website brightonandhovealbion.com, he said: “I think we’re not just aiming for the top ten.
“We have a very good squad and if we raise our standards a bit I think we can even try to qualify for European competitions, be it the Conference League, the Europa League or even the Champions League. Why not? I always dream big, I always aim high in life.”
An injury-free season for Mwepu could help Albion recoup Yves Bissouma’s loss to Tottenham.
He said: “Bissouma has been a reliable player for Brighton for years.
“We’re going to miss him, but me, Moises (Caicedo), Alexis (Mac Allister) and others, we’re capable of handling this position and we’re ready.”
