Talk to Collider, Eric opened up about the role and why it changed everything for him.
“I felt like I was disconnected from the acting profession. The short answer is that no one has ever asked me to take on roles like this,” he said of the role which is very different from the ones he has played in the past.
Eric added, “The longer answer is that I was ready to do something different. I feel a bit stagnant, stuck, or whatever you want to call it. I don’t whistle on my way to work, let’s just say. But this role [on Euphoria] be great.”
“The people I work with and collaborate with are super talented people. Sometimes, I feel like I’m punching on my own weight, into this one. It was a dream role,” he continued. “I can do things that nobody asks me to do and that allows me to grow and reach out, as an artist. I trust Sam very much. I don’t even need to ask him what’s happening in the next episode, or what’s happening in the next season. I will be fine. “
