Erin McGregor has spoken openly about her worries about traveling with her son Harry, 6.

The mother-of-two was in tears as she confessed she flew to Spain in fear with Harry, who is nonverbal and was previously diagnosed with sensory issues.

Erin, who is a sister to UFC fighter Conor McGregor, detailed her concerns on her Instagram Stories.

“I’m literally up to my neck in fear,” she says.

“Me and Harry are traveling today and I was like, ‘I’m not going to come, I’m not going to ramble around and tell everyone I haven’t slept because I’m like, what if he falls asleep on the plane and I have to go down the stairs?

“I have to carry the stroller and carry a sleeping baby? And who will help me carry all the bags onto the trolley and then push the stroller out to meet my family?”

“Who will help me with all this? What happens if he has an absolute meltdown?” She continued.

“I couldn’t get ice blocks for his pizza, I have to call the doctor to get his prescription… when the plane noise is too loud and I have nowhere to go?”

Erin said that people just don’t get that when it comes to having a special needs child.

“I also know that when I talk about sensory nutrition, from how closely he handles food… If that food isn’t the right brand and cooked at the right temperature, he just won’t eat.”

“Like he’s just not eating, the effects that that has, the pounding of the effect, the cramps start, then the senses get really overloaded and he’s in a lot of pain and he can’t tell us,” she explained.

“It’s literally taking us weeks to get him up and running again and to get his system up and running again.”

“To someone else, that might seem like ‘OMG, she’s making a big deal out of pizza,’ but it’s really not me. People say, ‘Oh, he’s great’ – and he’s great because I make him great.”

The 41-year-old said she had to think about any logistics beforehand when it came to Harry.

“Every child with special needs is very different, you have to cater to your specific child and their needs,” she said.

“If I leave the country or go somewhere where I don’t have a safe place [where we] shut the hatches, Terry and I will do that.”

Erin explained that the stress can cause the couple to clash with each other.

“He’s really stressed because I’m going alone. Those are all things that people might not see.”

She implored people to be kinder and more patient with parents at the airport and she asked her followers to be accommodating.

“I’ll meet them [special assistance team at the airport]’ she explained before bursting into tears.

“I’m still struggling with that and I have to be honest and it’s my feelings and they’re valid.”

Giving herself a pep talk, Erin shared, “Ok I’ve had my little woe now…I’m fine now…I’m going to have a great time, Harry is going to be great on the plane, I just know it.”

“Let’s go Team Autism,” she added.

“I actually learned the Spanish word for autism today and I think how far I’ve come.

“Just in case, I don’t know why I need to know it in Spanish – autismo – just in case they bug me today when I go through security or something…take off his earplugs,” she explained.
