Manchester City goal Erling Haland has traveled to Monaco to meet agent Mino Raiola as speculation continues to mount over the forward’s future.

The city has reportedly agreed on terms with the Norwegian striker, but a deal is not yet official. The former Red Bull Salzburg hotshot has a release clause of around £68million in his Dortmund contract which, according to reports in Germany, must be met by April 30.

Interest in the 21-year-old stems from another impressive season in front of goal. His 25 of 27 appearances this season means he has 82 appearances in 86 games since joining Dortmund from the Austrian champions.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten (via Sports ), Haaland made a short trip to the Côte d’Azur after Dortmund’s weekend defeat by Bayern Munich. The result guaranteed Bayern won the championship title for the tenth time in a rowalthough Haaland’s side are close to securing second place.

The same reports suggest that the timing of the voyage had been set before the defeat and may have been related to the Clearance Clause situation. Sport also notes that it’s not the first such journey the player is undertaking.

While City are the overwhelming favorites to complete a deal for Haaland, Barcelona were also linked. However, he will not join Bayern, which the champions’ sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic confirms, pointing to top scorer Robert Lewandowski with 33 goals.

“That doesn’t make any sense,” said the Bosnian Sky90. “We have the best striker in the world. We have Lewa.”

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola declined to comment A deal has already been struck for the Norway international following suggestions. “I don’t have that concern or that business on my mind right now to think about what’s going to happen at this club next season,” said the Catalan when quizzed on the matter ahead of City Champions League semifinals against real Madrid.

However, the style of the Manchester club brought questions about how a player like Haaland could fit in. Former England striker Rickie Lambert recognized Guardiola’s penchant for playing without an orthodox striker this season after seeing a move for Harry Kane not materialize and suggested he could not adjust to a new setup immediately Give City’s title rivals a slight upper hand.

“I think the way City are playing I’m not sure if a big center forward will be good for them,” said Lambert talkSPORT.. It may take a while for them to get used to a new way of playing. I think it might bother her a bit.”
