An AN ESTATE agent wrote a hilarious listing for a £19,000-a-year multi-storey car park and the guards blown up.
Fergus Lindsay gets people stitched up after reading a Rightmove advertisement for parking spaces on Albion Street, Glasgow.
The real estate agent, from Slater Hogg & Howison, wrote this list in an attempt to appeal to people who are “tired of turning around and jumping in the parking fandango”.
The description reads: “Even with reluctance, you must admire the uncanny efficiency of traffic managers with their near-superhuman ability to materialize from thin air as if projected from the Floor parking enforcement of USS Enterprise.
“If you’re tired of straining your neck and turning your head, jumping fandango in the parking lot, dialing the wrong RingGo number or searching behind your passenger seat to change position, there’s safe, secure private parking available. This door, covered and CCTV surveillance is just the way to go.
“Perfect location in the heart of Commerce City, this is the main garage for your four-wheeled friend to rest.”
He then gave some background information about his unique writing style as a real estate agent.
“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and over the years you see people cutting and pasting a lot,” says Fergus.
“I always try and have a slightly different perspective. It’s hard to know what to say about a few square feet of concrete,” before adding, “I write ads like this for sanity and enjoyment. my own.”
He then emphasized that although his office approaches things differently, they strive to do the best for their clients.
“We have an obligation to all customers to do the best they can. I know that’s not necessarily the trendy view of agents but it’s the way we approach things in our office. .
“Thinking a little bit about something out of the ordinary reflects that we’re doing our best for our customers and representing ourselves in the best way we can.
“Whoever buys this is going to need to pay hard cash because you can’t mortgage the space – they have title but you can’t borrow against them.”
