European sunshine resort scraps Covid tests for UK tourists

GIBRALTAR scraps all testing requirements for Brits to make it easier to go on holiday.
Currently all unvaccinated travelers are required to take a Covid test within 48 hours of traveling to Gibraltar.
In addition, all Brits – regardless of vaccination status – must book a lateral flow test before arriving in Gibraltar, have it done immediately after landing and self-isolate until they get a negative result.
From Friday, however, all testing rules will be scrapped, along with the requirement for arrivals to fill out a Passenger Locator Form (PLF).
From March 25, unvaccinated close contacts of people who have tested positive for Covid will no longer have to self-isolate – but positive cases will still have to isolate themselves.
The requirement to wear face masks was lifted earlier this month – with the exception of hospitals and other healthcare buildings.

Vijay Daryanani, Secretary of State for Business, Tourism and Ports, has welcomed the changes and hopes they will bring Brits back to the country.
He said: “Gibraltar’s security has always been an important factor for our visitors and now more than ever it is important that our visitors feel safe and secure.
“We’re excited to make it even easier for UK travelers to explore Gibraltar and the waiver of airport testing and the PLF ensures visitors can travel seamlessly and comfortably.”
Gibraltar’s scrapping of its PLF coincides with that Great Britain does the same.
All remaining Covid travel rules are in effect From 4 p.m. on Friday in the UK, including PLFs and Covid tests for unvaccinated Britons.
Not only Great Britain and Gibraltar are relaxing the Covid rules.
Yesterday, Greece has abandoned its PLFmaking it easier for Brits to enter the country.
France abolished it mandatory use of face masks – with the exception of public transport and nursing homes – and Spain is expected to follow suit In the coming weeks.
Today Heathrow Airport said goodbye to its mandatory face mask policy British Airways, Jet2 and TUI.
