The Eurovision Song Contest is on a grand scale, as the UK prepares for its annual competition away from the European community.

After a terrifying time in 2021, could this year be different?

Although the UK’s fortunes have been less than jolly in recent years – we haven’t won since 1997 – in these crazy days, who can say that this is not the time to shake? transfer?

After a year of launching in 2020 due to Covid – Eurovision being canceled for the first time in 64 years – everything is possible thanks to our brand new UK entry, Sam Ryder.

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will run from May 10 to May 14, 2022.

The event will be split into three parts, with semi-final 1 kicking off on Tuesday, May 10.

Semi-final 2 will be played two days later on Thursday, May 12 before the final two days later on Saturday, May 14.

All live events will begin at 8pm BST.

This year’s tagline will be The Sound Of Beauty. “To represent sound and its visual (and beautiful) properties, the design is based on the symmetrical structure and patterns of sound waves – the study of sound wave phenomena,” says Eurovision.

The stage was designed by Francesca Montinaro and called The Sun Within. It is said to symbolize many of the classical things associated with Italy such as the garden, the sun and the flowing water.

Eurovision 2022 this year will have three presenters: Mika, Laura Pausini and Alessandro Cattelan.

British-Lebanese singer-songwriter Mika has risen through the ranks of the music scene regularly through the BBC, featuring on numerous stations and broadcaster playlists.

Meanwhile, Laura Pausini will represent the host country – she’s an Italian singer who has won a truly incredible number of awards with 93 wins and 187 nominations.

Also from Italy, Alessandro Cattelanhe is best known for presenting the Italian version of Total Request Live and hosting the Italian show X Factor from 2011 to 2020.

The UK’s Eurovision 2022 will hopefully rest on a bearded, long-haired man named Sam Ryder.

His track is called SPACE MAN and his new job is a hope for the UK was announced on Scott Mills Radio 1.

Speaking to Eurovision TV, he said: “As a fan of Eurovision since I was a kid, I was honored to have the opportunity to sing at an event alongside some of the creators, artists, and artists. Europe’s most talented performers and musicians.

“I hope to sing my heart out in a way the UK can be proud of, and recommending a song I wrote with friends last summer makes the whole experience all the more special. See you in the legends of Turin! ”

Where is the Eurovision Song Contest 2022?

Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will be held in Turin, an Italian city of about 887,000 people and home to the legendary Juventus Football Club.

Italy is the defending champion of Eurovision and so welcome the European music circus.

Choosing which city to host the event depends on a lot of factors and involves heavy negotiation.

Eurovision Song Contest executive supervisor Jon Ola Sand said in 2018: “You need a good international airport, a central hub to get people in and out of the city, and a city with good infrastructure. You also need a suitable venue that can hold about 10,000 spectators.

“You also need a press center for 1,500 journalists and good facilities there for the delegates. You also need good hotels, in different parts of the city with different prices. “

Can you still get tickets to Eurovision Song Contest 2022?

At the time of writing, all tickets for the Live Performance and Jury are sold out for all three event days.

However, there are still some tickets to the Family Show for both the Semi-Finals and the Finals.

Tickets have ranged from €20 for a reduced visibility ticket to the Semi-Finals to €350 for the top ring at the Live Grand Final.

The Show Jury is a run through and takes place on the eve of the Live Shows, and is when the international judges vote for the contestants.

The Family Show is also a show throughout and takes place one day earlier than the Live Show.

How can you watch Eurovision Song Contest 2022?

The Eurovision Final will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The contest will also be available to listen on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

The semi-finals will be available to watch on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.

How is the position for Eurovision 2022 decided?

As always, the venue for next year’s event will be decided by who wins.

In other words, each year the competition is held in a city within the country that won the previous year.

For example, Ukraine won the competition in 2016 and so the 2017 event was held in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
