Graham Norton dug into Mika when he made a double mistake hosting Eurovision tonight.
Grace Kelly was one of the presenters of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, and when he approached the Green Room to chat with some of the artists, the singer misspelled the name of the country he was talking to. – before doing exactly those moments later when he introduced the Polish performance.
And Graham – who is narrating the show for a UK audience – couldn’t help but correct Mika when he said Holland would perform next, even though Holland had performed more than an hour earlier.
Mika also tries to mistake Romania for another country when he talks to them in the green room about their performance.
Meanwhile, Graham hopes that Sam Ryder can put the UK high in this year’s rankings.
“Honestly, I think Sam Ryder is our best chance in years. This man is a star with a huge fan base and Europe seems to love him when he’s in the running. Spaceman promoter. The big competition comes from Italy,” he said.
“I have a feeling that they can do that very rare thing, which is a two-year win.”
Graham feels his whole attitude towards Eurovision has changed since it came back from the Covid pandemic.
“I think my attitude changed last year when we came back from the pandemic,” he explained.
“I’m suddenly acutely aware of what it means to people. There are so many lovely messages from viewers recalling the family tradition of watching the show over the decades. It’s more than just a way to end the show. connected but also the past.
“Obviously it’s a silly (but brilliant) song contest, but it’s also important. I think that’s the key to its longevity.”
