Actress Eva Green “could make a B-movie” without ending her career, her longtime agent told the Supreme Court in a legal battle over the fallout. of a multi-million pound sci-fi movie.
Royale actress Ms Green was slated to star in the dark thriller A Patriot, but production was canceled in October 2019.
The 42-year-old is now suing production company White Lantern Film, claiming she was entitled to a multimillion-dollar (£810,000) fee for the project even though it was cancelled.

White Lantern Film is filing a counterclaim against the French actress, accusing her of undermining independent film production, making “excessive financial and creative demands” and having high expectations. “not suitable” for the film’s budget.
Lawyers for the company and lender SMC Specialty Finance have also claimed that Ms Green “cheatedly” claimed to be ready and willing to make the film when she had no intention of doing so.
During Monday’s testimony, Max Mallin KC, representing the production company, discussed a text message from Ms. Green suggesting that the film under producer Jake Seal’s helm would be a film. “B movie”.
Ms Green told the court: “When an actor appears in a B-rated movie, they’re labeled as a B-lister, you’ll never be offered a quality movie again.”
She added that appearing in such a film “could kill my career”.
But on Friday, Charles Collier, who has represented Ms Green for 17 years, told the Supreme Court the former Bond girl was “wrong”.
He said, “I heard Eva say that a B-rated movie could be the end of her career. She was wrong about that… She could make a B-movie.”
Mr. Collier, a former communications attorney, said that Ms. Green had never breached a contract or failed to report a day’s work in nearly two decades.
“Eva, for all her sweet passion and love for this movie…she never broke it,” Mr. Collier later said.
He continued, “If she has to act in a B movie, then she has to do a B movie. That’s her contract. If she has to do it, she has to do it.

Mr. Collier added: “A B-rated movie wouldn’t be the end of her career, but her breach of contract and not going to work?… The drama must go on.”
During Friday’s hearing, Mr Mallin suggested that Mr. Collier “begged” Ms. Green to make a film with Dame Judi Dench and an experienced crew, instead of doing it on A Patriot.
Mr Collier replied: “I definitely remember I advised her to make another movie instead of this one.
“There was a time when I felt extremely concerned about the mess of this production… I was seriously worried that they wouldn’t be able to make this movie.”
The agent said he “advised her to walk away” when Ms Green had the legal opportunity.
However, Mr. Collier later said that Ms. Green still wanted to do A Patriot, telling the court: “Every time she was offered a safe exit, she didn’t do it because she loved the movie so much.”
The trial is scheduled to end on February 10, with a decision expected in writing at a later date.
