Space will be accessible from any device where you can use a browser, like EVE Online gets a new one EVE Anywhere option starting today. CCP has introduced the new cloud-based platform powered by Intel technology and that means remote access to the servers and gaming is available where and when is convenient.
The service was recently in beta for Omega account users but is now available in the US and many European territories during its initial release. CCP will release it in additional territories this year. The goal is to give players access wherever they can. The beta, which took place at various locations across Europe, attracted more than 11,000 users with a total of 86,000 sessions played since last August. CCP used player data and feedback to tweak the experience and prepare it for a full launch, and now it’s here.
In a press release in which the EVE Anywhere Launch, Creative Director Bergur Finnbogason said, “We really appreciate you trying out Capsuleers and providing invaluable feedback to help us improve the experience. Thanks to all your help, we’re finally ready to go EVE Anywhere in your hands, regardless of your browser settings”. Those interested in trying it out anywhere can play on any desktop or laptop via Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Safari as long as you have a connection of 25MBps or better.
If you are in one of the supported territories, you can go to EVEOnline.com and click “Launch EVE Online‘ when logged into your account. This step to support cloud streaming will help users with different hardware to access the game. CCP has tried to both modernize and improve the experience EVE Online Welcome for newer players and players with different setups. This is another effort in that modernization and opening-up that also helps propel the game into its next decade.
