Evening Traffic and Travel: Lanes are reopening following a collision on the M50 South near the Blanchardstown junction

All lanes have been reopened after a collision on the southbound M50 during rush hour.

The incident happened just after 5pm between Exit 5 Finglas and Exit 6 Blanchardstown and emergency services were called.

Traffic was reduced to one lane at times, but the incident has since been cleared and the highway is fully open.

Dublin Fire Brigade responded to the collision and urged road users to “concentrate on driving”.

Traffic remains heavy on the southbound motorway between exit 5 Finglas and exit 6 Blanchardstown and between exit Finglas and the M1 exit.

There is heavy traffic between exit 11 Balrathory and exit 9 Red Cow, also northbound.
