Everton striker Dominic Calvert Lewin has been fined £900 after pleading guilty to speeding while driving a Lamborghini past Runcorn.

Chester Magistrates Court heard on Tuesday that Calvert-Lewin’s vehicle was recorded speeding on the A533 Central Expressway south near Halton Lodge toward Beechwood at 1:18 a.m. on May 18. 8 years ago. His Lamborghini was traveling at 58mph in a 50mph zone.

After initially pleading not guilty to speeding and failing to provide information, Calvert-Lewin – who was out of court and lives in Bowdon, Altrincham – changed his confession to speeding through his legal representative, Barry Warburton. Prosecutor Michael O’Kane did not provide evidence on the charge of failure to provide information, meaning the charge was dropped.

A panel of magistrates, chaired by Roy Baron, fined Calvert-Lewin £900, with an order to pay prosecution costs of £620, all within 28 days, and demanded a £90 surcharge. His driver’s license has been awarded 3 points, meaning he now has 6 points after his previous speeding incident on February 28, 2020.

Mr Warburton commented that Calvert-Lewin was a “professional footballer” with “disposable income in excess of £450 a week”. The 24-year-old striker, who has missed several games this season through injury, last appeared for the Merseyside club in a loss to Tottenham Hotspur on 7 March.

Calvert-Lewin was ruled out of his team’s weekend loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers due to illness. Everton’s next Premier League game is on Thursday night, with Frank Lampard’s side hosting team-mates in the second half of Newcastle United, and it is unclear at this stage if Calvert-Lewin will play against the team. by Eddie Howe or not.

Calvert-Lewin finished last season as Everton’s top scorer in the Premier League with 16 goals. He finished with 21 goals in all competitions, but has scored only three times this term after missing most of the season.
