Everton vs Chelsea confirmed line-up: team news ahead of tonight’s Premier League game

blank

Chelsea begin their Premier League season against Everton tonight as Thomas Tuchel meets Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.

Tuchel replaced Lampard as Chelsea boss only to win the Champions League in his first season in charge but last season proved far tougher.

Although the Blues faced uncertainties off the pitch during the club’s sale to new owner Todd Boehly, Chelsea fell out of the title race and became embroiled in a battle for the top four.

With Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United strengthening in the transfer window, Tuchel is hoping Chelsea get off to a quick start against an Everton side who narrowly avoided relegation under Lampard last season.

Here’s everything you need to know.

forecast

Everton will work hard but appear to be a very limited team who aren’t ready for the new season. Chelsea haven’t had the best preparation either, but their defense is usually dependable and Everton shouldn’t pose too many problems without a striker. Raheem Sterling could earn the win in a narrow opening win for the Blues. Everton 0-1 Chelsea
