ALL iPhone owners are urged to review their settings today.
There’s an important update you need to install – or you’re putting yourself at risk.
From time to time, Apple releases a major update to protect you.
And the new iOS 15.6 update does just that.
It fixes 37 bugs, including an issue where an app was able to run code to gain full access to your iPhone.
Thankfully, it’s easy to update your iPhone and fix these issues in seconds.
It’s a good idea to install iOS updates as soon as possible.
First off, they generally introduce fancy new features for you to enjoy.
However, they often include security updates that fix bugs that hackers can exploit.
Apple closes these loopholes so crooks can’t exploit them to compromise your device, accounts, or logins.
Updating your iPhone is the only way to get these security fixes.
They are completely free and usually only take a few minutes to install.
And they could save you from significant attacks later.
How to update your iPhone
First, make sure your iPhone is backed up via iCloud.
Then go to Settings > General and select Software update.
Now select the software update to install it.
The update may already have been downloaded. If not, you need to download it first.
Then enter your passcode and tap Install Now.
If you’re running iOS 15.6, you’re using the latest software version.
So you are well protected against hacker attacks.
Of course, it’s not foolproof.
Still, you should be wary of various hacking methods including deceptive “phishing” emails, suspicious WhatsApp messages, unexpected iMessage links, and more.
