Everything We Learned From New Star’s Trip: Picard Season 3 Trailer

All told, throughout the Trek series, Brent Spiner played seven different characters.

In addition to Data and Altan Soong in “Picard”, Spiner also plays the very elderly Noonien Soong, Data’s real data creator, as well as Data’s evil android twin friend Lore. He also played a Raw Data prototype named B-4 in “Nemesis.” In a hilarious episode of “Star Trek: Enterprise,” Spiner played Arik Soong, a geneticist who illegally tries to perfect the human genome. In that episode, it was established that the Soongs were often the villains. In the end Arik comes to the conclusion that genetics is not the way to perfect humanity, but he can start an android project…

In the second season of “Picard,” set in the year 2024, Spiner plays Adam Soong, Arik’s ancestor who also enjoys tinkering with genetics. He falls into an alliance with Q (John de Lancie), and later the Borg Queen (Annie Wersching in Allison Pill’s body) in an attempt to kill Picard’s ancestors. All very complicated. Just know that Arik was also a villain.

However, at the beginning of “Picard” season 3, most of these characters are already dead. Spiner was noted in the “Picard” teaser trailer, so he’ll be back, but it’s impossible to say which character it is. One possibility: the last time the audience saw Lore, in the episode “Descent” (September 20, 1993), he was arrested and arrested for various crimes. Lore can be manually restored and reassembled to follow her villainous path. B-4 also seems to have been kept, and Spiner can also easily play an android makeover, without personality.

“Star Trek: Picard” season 3 will premiere on February 16, 2023, on Paramount+.
