An ex-researcher has exploded Kirstie Allsopp before the alleged “diva’s claim” on her property show and insisted it was also difficult for viewers.

Former staff on Channel No. 4 Location, Location, Location claims Kirstie and co-star Phil Spencer, 52, were not involved in the search for the right homes, saying: “It’s all Lies, Lies, Lies.”

The researcher, who asked to remain anonymous, was excited by Kirstie’s claim that young people could buy their own homes if they gave up “coffee, the gym, Netflix lifestyle” – for which she was widely mocked online.

Calling her comments “out of touch,” they said: “That doesn’t surprise me.

“As I worked on the show, it became clear that Kirstie and Phil had nothing to do with the search. Myself and others will be looking for property, at an office in Glasgow – searching Rightmove to find the couples dream home.

“Contributors count on Kirstie and Phil’s help. This is a lie… even though we filmed them looking in the windows of the real estate agents. ”

Kirstie, 50, the daughter of a baron with an estimated fortune of £16 million, denies misleading viewers and she started her own property company at the age of 25.

Acknowledging that she bought her first property at the age of 21 with help from her family, she said: “The easyJet lifestyle, the coffee, the gym, Netflix doesn’t exist.

“I often walk to work with a bagel. And on payday, I’ll go out to eat pizza, watch movies, and buy lipstick. “

The researcher told us: “I was strictly ordered Kirstie to have specific snacks – Green & Black chocolate, San Pellegrino water, nuts and fruit. And lunch has to be up to standard.

“I feel guilty when I see the faces of the contributors light up. They were waiting, delighted to see Kirstie.

“Even at this stage, Kirstie and Phil don’t know what they’re looking for or what we’ve found.”

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: “Each search is supported by a team, all of whom are listed in the program’s attribution. They, and Kirstie & Phil find the right property.

“Ultimately, Kirstie and Phil have the final say on properties being introduced.”

They said Kirstie asked for a specific chocolate while filming during her pregnancy in 2006 and 2008 and “had severe morning sickness”.

The spokesperson added: “She left Green & Black’s as soon as she had children.”
