Ex-Emmerdale star Charley Webb has announced that she will be returning to television for a new project following her departure from ITV.

The 34-year-old actress played Debbie Dingle for 19 years on the soap, before she announced she was leaving Dales earlier this year.

But she has now announced two new projects that she will be filming over the summer after leaving Emmerdale.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Charley said she was “delighted” to return to the screen and share a photo of herself during the dress rehearsal.

Sharing an excited selfie in front of the mirror, the former soap star wrote: “Today I will dress up for a new job. I’m very excited for the next 2 projects I’m shooting over the summer and getting back to the screen. ”

Charley’s former co-stars and celebrity friends were quick to comment on the post as they shared their excitement, with her Hollyoaks star brother Jamie Lomas writing: “Yes babe x” Follow heart emojis and clap hands.

Emmerdale’s Victoria Sugden star Isabel Hodgins commented: “Too fun with xxx”, while Michelle Keegan added: “Yaaaaay! Go on gurl” accompanied by a clapping emoji.

In early 2022, the soap actress confirmed that she had left the popular ITV soap opera, saying, “I left to have Ace two years ago.

“I went back late last year for ten weeks to finish a storyline so I guess it’s officially been a year. I never felt the need to announce that so we didn’t.”

It is reported that her decision to leave Emmerdale was made after her husband Matthew Wolfenden and their co-star Isabel Hodgins were caught up in a race on the ITV soap, which is said to have “fueled the decision her intention to leave”.

The pair are said to have been involved in an incident on the set of the show where it was alleged there was a conversation between the pair and another actress, who said her accent was imitated. .

Speaking of Charley’s decision to leave ITV, a source told The Sun at the time: “The past few months have given her time to think about her future and it’s one of those things that has nothing to do with Emmerdale.

Away from Dales, she has three children with her former co-star Matthew, who played David Metcalfe in the film.

Charley and Matthew got engaged on Christmas Day 2009 – the couple dated for two years before getting engaged.

They then got married in February 2018 and their co-star, Lucy Pargeter, was the bridesmaid.
