SOME Brits may think it’s helpful to undress in bed while staying at a hotel.
However, one hotel manager has revealed that’s not the case – and explains why you should never do it.
Flavio Serreti, manager of Soprano Villas and Rome Lofts says that doing this before housekeeping arrives can actually give them more work.
I said Insiders: “On busy days, staff will simply refill pillows and reuse old sheets, changing sheets only every three to four days.
“Making the bed every morning can add unnecessary minutes to the duties of the time-sensitive housekeeping staff.”
Many hotels do not change bed sheets daily, unless requested.
Guests can still call reception to request freshly laundered linens – but only need to be left during your stay.
However, the staff also revealed that guests DO take off your clothes when checking out, as it makes their job much easier.
The cleaners have previously said: “Housekeeping is a pleasure when you do it, it saves a lot of effort.
“Try and get it in the waist-high position, as they usually try and grab it all at once to increase speed and it’s less dangerous for the back if it’s not on the floor.”
A lot of guests have said that they always do this themselves.
One person said: “Whenever I’m at a hotel, I always strip the bed and pile dirty sheets and towels together in the bathroom.”
Some people explain how they were taught by their parents to do this: “Every time we were in a hotel room when we were growing up (a lot), my dad would collect all the sheets and pillowcases and add them to the pile. filthy bed linen.
“I never understood why until I was a house cleaner.”
And make the bed while leaving can make the room look neater, it also makes their job more difficult.
A former housekeeper, who used to work at a resort in Australia, told Business Insider: “If we think you haven’t used any beds, we may not change the sheets.
“So it would be better if it looked like it was asleep.”
